Biography Overview
Robert B. Baker, Esq., B.C.S. has been designated as a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer by The Florida Bar Association since 2002. Less than 1% of Florida lawyers are Board Certified as Civil Trial Experts. Robert has passed the Bar examinations in N.Y.*, MA*, R.I.*, and FL (*inactive). He is also licensed to practice before the Federal Courts in The Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
Over the past 30 years he has recovered in excess of $400 Million Dollars on behalf of plaintiffs injured or killed when corporations have placed profits over safety. Career highlights include a $39 Million Dollar jury verdict in Archer/Perez v. Yamaha, (the largest verdict ever against a watercraft manufacturer) and a precedent setting case argued before the Florida Supreme Court in Lamz v. Geico, which significantly changed the insurance landscape in the State of Florida.
He has successfully litigated products liability cases including defective breast implants, where he was State Liaison Counsel for the State of Rhode Island in Multi-District litigation, coordinating claims against Dow in MA and R.I. He has also tried and won several jury verdicts against Bombardier and Yamaha and is responsible for all manufacturers changing the design of personal watercraft worldwide to eliminate the phenomenon of off-throttle steering. Additional products liability experience includes 100’s of Roundup, 3M earplugs, Tepezza, Truvada, Camp Lejune, Vioxx and Phen-Fen cases.
His extensive experience in various aspects of products liability including pharmaceutical, medical devices, motorized products and recreational products, combined with his extensive trial record, makes him uniquely qualified to secure maximum compensation under the law.
